So I've decided that I'll start with the cheapest option first, I have so many busines cards that I'll start passing them out to anybody who will take them. I'll see if I can hang some up in my apartment and find some craft and art stores to post them at. I will post the results in two weeks.

Learning to Etsy: The start
As a relative newb to the Etsy scene I want to jump in with both feet and make the most money I can in the quickest way possible. There are sites everywhere that have suggestions on how to drive traffic to your Etsy site and all of them sound like a good idea, but I want to know what works best. I'm not sure what the right way to test the different suggestions would be, but every two weeks I will try one suggestion and report the results. I will use one week for the suggestion and one week for a buffer, I know it isn't exactly scientific, but it is the closest I can think of today. For each suggestion I will talk about how much time it takes to follow, how easy or hard it is, if there is a change in my traffic, etc. Hopefully this will give other newbs the info they need to pick campains that will work for them.

I have learned something new
So the site I got the original design off of mentioned that they weren't sure if you could use the new aluminum irons to make my kiln and I now have an answer for that:
No, no you can't.
It was a spectacular failure, which doesn't mean it failed spectacularly, or there would have been flames and a fire truck. Instead there was just bubbling melting and splitting aluminum heating elements.
No fear though, I am going to try again when I get back from my trip to Utah which is supposed to happen today, so we can hope. I have to get more ceramic fiber blanket and some donuts and wires. I should be all good to go again. I'm not giving up until I have made my own kiln

Derailed
So I got the thing assembled, I need to make the power cord insulated because it is getting too hot but I have been derailed from all projects because I OD on prescription meds two weeks ago and I've been locked away for my safety. The kiln warmed up to 400 and was smoking before I turned it off because I don't have a fire extinguisher.

Almost Complete
Today I pick up the ceramic fiber blanket for my kiln and the thermometer. After a little more assembly the rig will be complete. Then I shall start my glasswork. I'm so excited! I'll post pictures if I have a sucessful fire. Here's hopeing.

Exciting Things!
Are coming to DamikDesigns. I am in the process of building a desktop kiln, and if successful I will post the designs and start making glass pendants. Wish me luck!

Watehelizit
Monsters have invaded my crafting space!
They have vicious fangs, horrible wings, and unnatural coloring!
They are too cute not to take home!
They will be making their debut on my etsy site soon.

Oh happy day with joyous glee
I'm happy to say I made my first sale today! Two of my pendants were bought by somebody, yippee!
I'm also starting to working with different mediums. I'm starting to use clay because I want to use the art clay sliver and I want to feel more comfortable working with clay. I know that was a redundant poorly constructed sentence, but I don't care. I sold something today!

I did it myself
I made a new cage for my chinchillas. About halfway through I decided that I just wasn't a DIYer. I wonder how that will affect my etsy business. Teehee.

Where to begin
I have been trolling the Etsy forums for information about where to start, I joined a local group, I asked for feedback, and I sought out all the advice I could find. Now I'm more overwhelmed then ever. I think I might just stick to making pendants nobody will buy.

Welcom to my blog
I've been enjoying making the scrabble tile pendants. It has been fun creating. I have been able to make so many of them and they have given me focus in my insomnia.
